Fan of Ellen

I worked for Ellen and her family for a short period. Although it was short the rewards were great. I had an opportunity to meet a woman with strength of body, will and faith that I hope to draw my own strength from. Elders do not realize the mentorship they provide through their own life's journey. Ellen was failing when we began our relationship. We, the family and I thought she would re-bound. She had been through a grueling bout with cancer.
I think when the family finally asked for outside help Ellen decided they were be okay and she could go on ahead to her destiny and God. The time I spent with her was both filled with compassion and humor. She was courageous and did not complain. She tried to be alert and contribute to the full lives around her. I will not forget Ellen. Going through the process of a loved one dying at home unites people in a special bond. I have come to know them in a special way and cherish the trust I had been granted to be part of the clan.
