An introduction can mean a difference
Give a 2 hour gift session to an elder you know...
An introduction or suggestion from a friend can mean the difference of isolation and depression for an elder or care giver of an elder you know. Helping to make a connection could make a huge difference in the lives of people you care about. Think about it. As an assistant, I come in to help everybody. I arrive as a blank slate, no baggage, no expectations. I arrive to do what I can to meet the needs of the elder and primary care giver. I can offer support to both parties give the primary care giver a respite and provide friendship and support to both.
Help does not have to come in at a high cost. Small chunks of time can be very helpful and cost effective. Ask Joan and Marie. I work for both, cleaning every other week. I pitch in to perform special tasks when they need extra help based on need. I was available when Joan's husband came home from the hospital under Hospice. I helped get things arranged, even helped ask some difficult questions and clarify Hospice's care plan. When he passed I was there to organize personal effects, ready the home for a memorial service. I am back to every other week maintenance. Some times I bring a treat to share with Joan over a hot cup of tea during a break. We chat while I'm there. She knows she can count on me. In the spring I will do some gardening to get the yard ready for the lawn mowers. We have plans to clean out the garage, sort and donate items to lessen the burden later( much later) on family members.
I was asked by Marie, a energetic 90 year old Manchester resident to do some sweepering. We made a plan for me to come every week and do deep cleaning for 2 hours per session. Now I come every other week and work 2 hours to maintain her neat home.
It can be difficult for elders to accept help, let alone seek it out. To help with the transition I have a new service to offer, A friend or family member can purchase a 2 hour session for some one they know as a gift, no strings attached or high pressure sell. It will be a win win situation for all involved. I will network and get to know more people to share my services and the client will get to experience the benefit of the services I offer. AND the gift giver will have made a difference.
Okay, lets do it. Call or get in touch.
Sincerely Margaret
PS A 2 hour gift is $35.00, prepay and includes any of my services.
