Arley and I Wren Houses

Arley and I collaborated to design and build wren bird houses. There was a wood working shop in the assisted living facility. They promised it would be open always. We found it full with storage and fought to keep it operable. That was a frustration. Working with in the bureaucracy of a large organization. I have tools and a wood shop at home. From our design and skills Arley shared with me I built several houses from scrap wood. We decided to sell some to get money to build more. We had a open house in the wood working room at the assisted living facility. It was a success and we began to build more. I did, and Arley cheered me on. The found items I added were a stretch but when Arley saw how much people liked them he saw the merit. We found a comfortable ground, allowing each our contribution.
I sold a few on E-Bay. It became our business, how we were going to get rich. That and baking chocolate chip/ hickory nut oatmeal cookies.
Arley wanted the first one , our pro-type to hang in his living room. When no one was looking we scootered down to the wood working room and borrowed a coat tree stand to hang it on. After all the grief we had over the use of the wood working room it gave us both pleasure to see our birdhouse displayed on the "stolen" tree stand.
